Kota is one of the most familiar tourist destinations situated on the bank of Chambal River. It has several historic places, majestic palaces and royal forts. Jagmandir palace, Haveli of Deaji, Chambal garden, Kota barrage, Rana Pratap sagar Dam and Rao Madho singh Museum are some of the prime attractions of Kota city. The royal city Kota was a portion of Bundi during the ruling of Rajput. The city got an independent status after Mughal King Jahangir took over the place from the Bundi kingdom.
City Palace: It is one of the glorious monuments in the Kota city representing the unique architecture and culture of Royal state Rajasthan. Kishore Sagar: This is an artificial lake situated by the side of Brij Vilas museum. Jagmandir is one of trhe most familiar palace situated at the center of the museum. The palace is one of the royal palace and tourist destinations in the Kota city. It is crafted with red sand stone and well known as one of the beautiful monument in Rajasthan. You can also go for boat riding in Kishore Sagar Lake along with your friends or family.
Alnea: Alena is one of the famous river bank well known for the pre-historic carvings. This is a unique tourist destination and calm spectator of golden history of Rajasthan. You can find attractive architecture on rocks out there. There are several pre-historic sharp tools made from rocks and you can see them on the river bank.
Other attractions: Apart from all these tourist destinations, there are several other sites like Darrah wildlife sanctuary, Baroli, Bundi and Bhawani Natya Shala which are situated at affordable distance from Kota city. Kota city is also known as one of the familiar shopping destination in India. You can find traditional gold jewelries, silk sarees and Doria sarees from the shops present there.
